In our current era, also referred to as the information age, developments in computer technology have facilitated the development of information-based systems. The Computer Engineering and Software Engineering programs specialize in computer hardware and software, while the Computer Systems Engineering program encompasses the fundamental and advanced theories related to the acquisition, storage, transmission, modeling, processing, use of information, and its transformation into computing with intelligent techniques, as well as their applications. Computer Systems serve as a bridge between the fields of business and computer sciences. Computer systems engineering is a profession that covers all topics related to the analysis, design, and application development of information systems. Today, Computer Systems are used in a wide range of areas from banking to the automotive industry, from health information systems to corporate management, and from telecommunications systems to air transportation. It is an integral part of businesses and organizations.

The aim of the Computer Systems Engineering department is to train Computer Systems Engineers who can develop information systems using information and communication technologies and possess the necessary knowledge and skills to scientifically use information technologies in line with the needs of business life and industry and at world standards. For this purpose, training is provided on the introduction of information and communication technologies, their usage, and the analysis, design, and development of information systems. The implementation of corporate systems such as ERP, CRM, SCM, BI, and BPM (Business Performance Management) through projects, including business analysis, system design and development, business process reengineering, change management, decision-making, and business analytics, are some of the activities of Computer Systems Engineering.

Graduates of the Computer Systems Engineering undergraduate program at Bucak Computer and Information Faculty will be able to be employed in public and private sector organizations where information technologies are applied, designed, and developed, as well as in the planning, implementation, execution, and management of systems and applications that utilize these technologies. Those who wish to work specifically in the same fields will also be able to provide consultancy and professional engineering services regarding information systems. Currently, the Information Technologies (IT) sector is the fastest-growing sector in the market, and graduates of Computer Systems Engineering will be preferred in this and related sectors. Students in our department will gain a certain level of experience through the On-the-Job Training they will undertake for one semester in their final year, allowing them to apply what they have learned throughout their education.
